We’re only three weeks into the year but MIPIM is already firmly in our sights.
Hopefully your flights and accommodation are booked, and you can now focus on the real purpose of your visit. We’ll be sharing some tips on making the most of MIPIM in our next blog, but before that we want to draw your attention to the industry’s famous pre-Cannes warm-up, MIPIM Yes Oui Cannes.
On Wednesday 28 February, key players in the property industry will come together to network and generate new business leads before heading to Cannes. Hosted and organised by our friend Derry Long, it’s a great opportunity to brush up on your networking skills and meet some friendly faces before the main event. And if that’s not convincing enough, all proceeds raised by ticket fees will be donated to the construction industry’s charity of voice, CRASH.
Tickets are selling quickly so we recommend booking sooner rather than later.
See you there!
Our good friends over at London at MIPIM have coined a new saying: FOMM (Fear of Missing MIPIM) and we couldn’t agree more. With a new website, theme and session formats, there is plenty to get excited about as we ramp up to MIPIM 2017.
Here’s what you need to know:
The theme for 2017 is ‘A New Deal for Real Estate’, which addresses the impact of the geo-political and economic challenges facing the real estate industry today and creating new sources of growth. According to the MIPIM website, this means stakeholders need to adapt and rethink their strategies by collaborating with new players and creating new forms of business.
This marks a forward-looking theme after a somewhat tumultuous year, with a focus on collaboration, partnership and welcoming new players to the industry. It’s a yes from us.
New and improved sessions
As well as the usual events and networking parties, a series of new sessions have also been announced. These include: the predictive scenario, in which three different scenarios on a current issue are presented by an expert and/or CEO to the audience; the masterclass, a lecture by a leading player in the industry on a topic related to their area of expertise so the audience can pick up some useful tips along the way; and finally, the creative workshop – interactive sessions for delegates to apply design techniques and frameworks to generate their own ideas and watch them come to life.
So now we have a taste of the new look MIPIM, what next? With 23,000 delegates from across 90 countries, 2,600 exhibitors, and more than 100 conferences, we think this will be the best year yet, and one you definitely don’t want to miss. We certainly won’t!

With MIPIM now only six weeks away, I’m sure thoughts are turning towards MIPIM and how to plan your time down there. One place not to miss is the London Stand at MIPIM!
We have over 350 companies registered through us this year and over 1,000 delegates so if you want to see what’s going on in the London market and meet those who are working on those projects, this is the place to do that.
We have ample networking space on our fantastic beachfront terrace and this year we have launched new bookable meeting tables on the front terrace. These are both reserved for London Club members so if you’re not a member, please contact one of the team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our extensive talks programme, organised by the NLA, kicks off on Tuesday 15th with a great session in association with Bilfinger GVA – the Changing Face of London – looking back over Boris’s term as Mayor and what he’s achieved, followed shortly after by a look at what London wants from a new Mayor in association with CPA & WPA. The programme also looks at key areas under development and hot topics such as Crossrail 2, the Housing and Planning Bill, Build to Rent and PRS. Click on the link here to download the full programme and keep checking the website for a full updated list including speakers – www.londonatmipim.com.
We hope you have a successful MIPIM and look forward to seeing you there!
